Child injured by stray bullet while sleeping in St. Louis home

Police responded to the 1600 block of Arlington Avenue where four people said they were sleeping inside their home when they were awakened to sounds of gunshots.

ST. LOUIS — An investigation is underway after a 12-year-old girl was injured from a bullet that fell on her in a north city home early Friday morning.

Police responded to the 1600 block of Arlington Avenue where four people said they were sleeping inside their home when they were awakened to sounds of gunshots.

A 12-year-old girl suffered a burn injury from a bullet that went through a wall and fell on her, police said. 

Police said the girl declined medical treatment and no one else was injured.
